When to go

Las Vegas boasts an unbelievable climate, with barely any rain and more than 300 days of sunshine each year. February and March are responsible for the majority of the rainfall in Las Vegas, but even this normally only consists of three or four days of rain.

The hottest time for Las Vegas holidays is during the summer months of June, July, August and September. During this period temperatures regularly far exceed 40°C. Those wanting to explore Las Vegas would be advised to visit outside of this scorching period, but for those visiting Las Vegas to enjoy the casinos, this is as good a time as any.

October through to February is the coolest time to visit Las Vegas, the average temperature dropping to around 20°C but with the occasional far warmer day. March and April offer a happy medium between the two, with high temperatures but the heat is not as intense as it is during the summer months.

What to see

Las Vegas boasts many attractions but above all else it is famous for its casinos. Not only do the casinos offer world class gaming, luxurious accommodation and over the top facilities, they also feature a fantastic array of extravagant attractions and entertainment.

The Stratosphere Hotel offers the SkyJump, a 108 storey high controlled free fall, while daredevils can go swimming with sharks at Mandalay Bay's Aquarium.

Visitors have the opportunity to take in some of the many shows regularly performed on the Las Vegas Strip, including the spectacular Cirque du Soleil. Before these shows there are many fine restaurants on the strip where you can enjoy an extensive variety of international fare.

Las Vegas also offers lots to do off the Strip, with one of the most spectacular being the helicopter tours over the Grand Canyon. Whether it is by air or on an open top double-decker bus, or even on horseback or on a bike, there is far more to exploRe in Las Vegas than the Strip.
